From A Distance

loving someone from afar
wasn't something i was looking for
nor even expected
but when it came
everything turned beautiful
to experience someone from a distance
and still feel the same passion from within
it made me feel like a different woman
but i felt more like me
and it's this love that made me discover
what lies underneath me
it all but happened just once in this lifetime
the certainty of it all
but it is the same love
that hurt me in the end
but i will treasure all the memories
that came along with this love
it will all be here in me
forever....

This poem is shallow compared to what you are feeling now.
I don't meant to criticize your work but you are better in prose where you can really describe every detail of what is happening and how you feel.
I know that you have loved much, much deeper and you are continously in love till now.
You have given your all in this "relationship". Skipping lunches (to catch NY time}, money (overseas call and all} and so much tears, but it seems they are all in vain and you don't care at all as long as you have expressed your love to that person.
I regret the fact that "that someone" seems to be rigid for reasons only he and God comprehend.

"If you love somebody
set him free
If he comes back
he's yours
if not...
he was never meant to be"

Thank you for all the time you spent listening to me. From all those years back, and then again now. You are truly a dear friend and someone that will be dear to me forever. I have decided to take your advice as you have quoted on your comment. I better stop now as this is all making me cry and you might spank me tomorrow when we see each other. Thank you, for being here.

The quote is a good one. The best relationships are those that are chosen by both parties. It is difficult to admit this this and difficult to live with it, but in the end, it is better.

It's OK to cry and you don't have to give up entirely. Just make freedom and honesty touchstones of your relationships--all of them.

And always look for ways to go deeper. Deeper into your feelings, deeper in your relationships. Open.

Can you write a poem or prose that finds a deeper meaning? That moves forward? Can you use nature as a metaphor?

I liked the poem. You had one of my tears. make New memories, keep the old.

Oh, thank you mrsbeach. I do have new memories at the present time, and I hope they remain happy. Well, I do tend to keep the old ones, though. But then, I guess I am someone who always rises from the "falls, the heartbreaks, the heartaches." And I guess it is what makes me find new happiness. And I am very happy now.:-)
