Hammond Trail

Finally rode on the Hammond Trail this afternoon. (Bike-hike-horses only trail between Arcata and almost to Clam Beach.)

A woman took my picture with a big, old, view camera (I think). It takes 4x5s. She's an advance photog. student at HSU and doing a project on people who use the trail. Actually I've only used it about 3 other times, on foot. Most of it is paved, but the end is still dirt.

I JUST got a new/old bike from the local emporium, Pedal and Tour, and it is red, has knobby tires, no fenders, and sports a back luggage rack and front and back baskets that detach. And a bell.

Whooooeeee!!!

Oh, and it's a single-speed coaster braker. I MIGHT put a separate hand brake on it just for descending the hill at Ella Sharp Park at the Rotunda, like Gail always liked to do...
