I love tidal creatures! Are you calling the anemones creepy? I love anemones!
Are those anemones? I thought anemones had tentacles.
Yeah, that's what they look like when the tide goes out. They curl their tentacles within themselves. I used to have a salt water tank, and it's amazing to watch them change shapes. They can get tall and thin, or short and squatty [the trunk of their body]. They can make their tentacles long and thin, or like stubby little fingers. The hole in the center is their mouth, and where they excrete waste. When they catch food in their tentacles, they curl their tentacles inward toward their mouth, and wrap their outer 'skin' over themselves. Mine used to eat right out of my hand. They seem to recognize me, and 'blossom' when I stuck my hand in the tank.
I had saltwater tanks too--I raised seahorses.
Thanks for the info.
I wonder if Gail knew those were anemones!
