big lagoon

Looks like it will be sunny today finally. I don't have to babysit till 11 a.m. but will do it again tonight, when Wendy & Keith2 go see "Blues Traveler." I don't think they've been out without the twins since last fall.

I went to Big Lagoon one day last weekend but it was too cold and windy. Wendy was appalled when I told her I'd seen a guy and kids wading in the water. She said there is a bad undertow.  Leaf Lady (Gail)

Why Fairies Live...

The inspiration for this inspirational piece was a picture Gail Slaughter sent to Mary Taitt and me a little while ago. Gail said there should be fairies in her garden, but she hadn't seen any yet.
Well, there can be lots of reasons why fairies don't make their presence known, and I think that seeing is not the only means for believing that fairies exist. For sure there's been no intellect, no matter how mighty, ever since the beginning of time, to ever offer any proof that they DON'T!

Raccoon Story

One morning last week I got up and saw a raccoon in the nighbor's
garage window--the neighbor had recently moved away and no one else
has moved in--the house is for sale. I thought the raccoon was just
hanging out--maybe it had a nest in there or something--but it was
there for hours and I finally realized it was caught! It had been
climbing up the garage door and it had closed, pinching its finger in
the door! When Keith got home, we went over with a couple
screwdrivers and wedged open the crack and pulled out the damaged paw.
The raccoon sat there a long time--a very long time. It had chewed
and chewed on the door trying to free its paw and may have damaged its
teeth. Eventually it got down and went away--I HOPE IT SURVIVED(S)!!
One of the neighbors was threatening to call animal control, so we are
glad it left when it did. Poor thing!

Today at Nashua Creek I

We walked at Nashua Creek today under threatening skies--the rain held
off, but the lighting wasn't too good. I carried three cameras--here
are a few from the first one.
