Book Review: Anxious People By Fredrik Backman - utpolunderground

I recently finished reading "Anxious People" by Swedish author Fredrik Backman. It's the May selection for my book club, and I usually wait till after the discussion before posting anything, but it's due at the library before the meeting.

Anyway, this is a fascinating book. In general, it's about a would-be bank robber who runs away without getting any money, and ends up in an apartment open house with no way out, so must take all the viewers hostage. It's about that disparate group and the complicated reasons each happens to be there. And it's about the two cops dealing with the situation.
I don't want to say more because one of the things that makes this book unique is it's full of surprise twists and interesting ways of thinking about our daily lives. It's sentimental and off-the-wall at the same time.
